Elephant Room

Children Aged 2 to 3 years

Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:14

Children learn in many different ways and the elephant room is designed for just that! We have a focus on building vocabulary, social skills, and foundations for future academic success. We use positive encouragement in our social and behavioral teachings while teaching the Golden Rule of sharing and treating others like you want to be treated. We believe that it is important for children to understand the concept of grace and how to have an open loving heart. The Bible tells us to “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8) We strive to guide children closer to God by teaching them educational foundations and how to have a strong character.

Each child enrolled in our Elephant Room will be assessed at least twice a year for age-appropriate areas of development. We use the Georgia Early Learning Development Standards (GELDS) for communication and gross motor assessment. For fine motor, problem-solving, personal social, and overall physical/health our teaching professionals rely on ASQ for the best developmental and social-emotional screening for children. Highly reliable and valid, an ASQ looks at strengths and trouble spots while educating about developmental milestones, and incorporates parent and teacher expert knowledge about the children. These two tools help us monitor and assess the many new skills your child will be learning. Children in the Elephant Room are growing and developing extremely quickly and our educators are teaching and supporting them every day.
